Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, expressed his anticipation to return to action for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga after being sidelined due to injury.
Boniface, who sustained the injury during a camp with the Super Eagles ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, commended his teammates for their commendable performance in his absence.
In an interview with Sport Bild, Boniface affirmed his readiness to contribute to Leverkusen’s pursuit of the Bundesliga title this season, emphasizing his desire to help the team with his style of play.
“The team did very well without me…I really miss being on the pitch with my teammates and hope to be back soon,” Boniface stated.
With 16 goals and eight assists in 23 appearances across all competitions this season, Boniface’s return could provide a significant boost to Die Werkself.
Bayer Leverkusen is scheduled to face TSG Hoffenheim in their upcoming fixture.
