England captain Harry Kane scored on his Bundesliga debut as champions Bayern Munich thrashed Werder Bremen 4-0 on Friday.

The 30-year-old also set up a goal to get the German giants off to a flying start on the opening weekend of the Bundesliga.

It was a fine evening for Bayern as they were ahead inside four minutes.

Kane played a superb through ball to Leroy Sane, who raced through on goal to roll a low effort into the bottom left corner.

Bayern’s lead was doubled in the second-half when Kane swept a low right-footed effort past home goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka from 15 yards.

Sane scored the third and his second of the game six minutes later before Kane was substituted in the 84th minute after suffering with cramp.

Mathys Tel then added a fourth in stoppage-time for a comfortable victory away from home.

The win made up for Bayern’s 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup last weekend.
