CAN Is Working For PDP, Wants Tinubu To Field Weak Deputy, Alleges Bakare

Viral quotations have emerged online credited to Pastor Tunde Bakare, presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, where he alleges that agitations by Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, were ploys by opposition party, People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to force a weak candidate on his party.

“CAN wanted to lure APC into presenting a weak candidate, they said ‘2023 is Christian President or nothing’.

“Christians are righteous people who behave like Christ, CAN are politicians who behave like PDP,” Bakare was quoted to have said.

The pastor is yet to deny the quotes attributed to him, but if his recent comments are anything to go buy, Bakare indeed might have made the comment.

The pastor, infamously alleged that Igbos are cursed and can’t ever be Nigeria’s president. The cleric made the pronouncement based on a largely apocryphal account of the killing of late Prime Minister, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.

He once also jumped in the defence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC presidential candidate over his controversy surrounding his past.

Bakare, on this latest outing, defends Tinubu’s choice of a Muslim Muslim ticket.

For him, it was a good thing that APC didn’t fall for what he claims as gimmick to make him pick a weak candidate.

“APC didn’t fall for their gimmick, they presented their strongest and best. Again, they started another one ‘Running Mate must be Christian’, again, APC choose the best as running mate.

“You can’t blackmail the APC.

“We are not a religious organisation but a Political party.

“There’s a massive difference between CAN and Christians. .

“I am a Christian and a Pastor and Asiwaju Tinubu Is My Candidate” he said.
