Cross River State Governor is hosting the C’River preCOP28 event in preparation and participation of Nigeria at UNFCCC COP28.
He said he is launching the preCOP28 National Climate Action stakeholders workshop (SNCAP) on Decarbonization and Biodiversity for the Niger Delta region in the south south Nigeria as a public demonstration of it concerned for the environment.
The workshop which is in partnership with the Federal Governmment and National Council on Climate Change is anchored by Stratus Consult Limited.
The preCOP28 convention will present developed bankable project for implemention.
The projects are focused on energy transition and Decarbonization, carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS).
The workshop, in addition will discuss project development in renewable energy including win and solar, bioenergy, infrastructure development for the Decarbonization of the transport sector.
Other areas of focus for implementation will include Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) and nature-based solutions.
The Summit billed for November 15 and 16, 2023, at the Calabar International Conference Centre (CICC) in Calabar will drive the carbon neutrality, climate resilient environment that will deliver on the long term social and economic growth of the state and region.
