The Edo State High Court presided over by Justice G.O. Madegbelo has sentenced three persons, Odion Victor, Amos Godwin, and Ayomide Michael to a Community Service for impersonating the Spiritual Director of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, Evangelist Ebuka Anozie Obi, with the intents swindling members of the public.

The case was brought against the trio by the Benin zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The trio were said to have created social media platforms in the name of Evangelist Ebuka and were asking members of the public to contribute money towards the treatment of some purported sick people, sow seeds for spiritual breakthroughs, or for special prayers.

They were also said to have directed the members of Zion Ministry to pay the money into bank accounts they created.

Justice G.O. Madegbelo who presided over the case, found them guilty of the charges and sentenced them to Community Service.

Madegbelo also ordered them to forfeit their mobile phones, the balance in their bank accounts “being proceeds and instrumentality of crime to the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.”
