2024 APC Guber Candidate, Monday Okpebholo

Ismail Abdulazeez Mantu Reporting

The recent revelation that the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the September 21 gubernatorial election in Edo State, Mr. Monday Okpebholo, is not a registered voter anywhere in Nigeria has sent a serious panic through the party.

This discovery has left the APC scrambling for a replacement as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) verification portal consistently returns a “Voter Not Found” message for Senator Okpebholo.

Sources within the APC reveal that party leaders are viewing this crisis as an opportunity to replace Okpebholo, whose campaign has been marred by numerous setbacks since he clinched the party’s ticket. With the election looming, the opposition is capitalizing on the APC’s disarray, intensifying efforts to secure a more viable candidate to strengthen their chances in the upcoming vote.

As the situation unfolds, the APC faces mounting pressure to replace Okpebholo to avoid further damaging their electoral prospects. The coming days will be crucial for the party as they navigate this unprecedented challenge.
