C’River: Deputy Gov. Boasts Of Participants’ Safety After Carnival’s Dry Run Flag Off

As Deputy Governor Hon Peter Odey, Flags Off the first Carnival Calabar Dry Run, he has assured all participants of security of lives and property.

Odey who represented the Governor Sen Bassey Edet Otu made promise when he said. “I want to assure you on behalf of the governor that we are going to have the best carnival this year.”

He said: “All the security Chiefs are on ground and what that means is that the security of everyone is guaranteed.”

The Commission also has again introduced a dry run for Children known as Children’s Dry Run.

This year’s 2023 Carnival Calabar Dry Run have been scheduled to take place as first on the 15th October 2023 by 1:30 p.m. while the Second Dry Run is slated for 12th of November 2023 by 1:30 p.m, followed by third Dry Run on the 10th of December 2023 by 1:30 p.m. While the Children Dry Run is scheduled for 17th December 2023 by 1:30 p.m.

The following routes (roads) will be closed during these periods; Highway by Mobil to Eleven-Eleven (11-11) Rounadbout to Calabar Road by Total.

Mary Slessor Avenue to Mary Slessor Roundabout to Rabana Roundabout down to Efio Ette Roundabout through MCC to Mobil.

“However, the routes shall be partially closed and opened as carnival progresses,” the Commission said. “You are advised to use alternative routes.”
