C’River Deputy Gov. Gifts Man N1m Cash After Completing 20,156 km Walking Challenge

The Cross River State, Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has donated N1million Cash to one Mr. Agbor Joseph Ejini, popularly known as Joe Sweet for walking 20,156 km from C’River north to south in seven days.

Agbor Joseph Ejini, set off on Wednesday, 18th October, from Obudu LGA and arrived Calabar South LGA on Tuesday 24th October, 2023.

Ejini, a native of Utugwang community in Obudu LGA believes the feat was a promise fulfilled.

Joe Sweet, a musician and skitmaker, promised to walked in solidarity and celebration of the emergence of Sen Bassey Edet Otu and Rt. Hon. Peter Odey as Governor and Deputy Governor of Cross River State.

He walked all the way from Obudu LGA in the Northern Senatorial District to Calabar South in the Cross River southern Senatorial District, south south Nigeria.

He was received by the Deputy Governor on Thursday joined by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, on behalf of the Governor, Sen Bassey Edet Otu.

The artist, on arrival in Calabar, presented both the Governor and his deputy with portraits as well as a victory song he recorded in their honor.

Ejini was welcomed and celebrated in the Government house where he was presented with N1million as a support and encouragement for his music career.

In appreciation Ejini said: “I have never been so happy in my life. I thank the Deputy Governor for acknowledging what I have done and for gifting me the sum of One Million Naira.”

“I pray that God will bless him and give him wisdom,” he said. “I would use the cash gift to upgrade my musical career and create opportunities for youths in my locality.”
