The governor of Cross River State Sen Bassey Edet Otu, has directed that all political appointees should handover all Governmment properties in their possession to the their permanent secretary or senior Director of the ministry with immediate effect.
Governor Otu, in a release dated June 1, 2023 with reference number SSG/GAO/ 102/VOL.VI/215.said all Governmment properties including buildings occupied by political appointees should be vacated with immediate effect.
Signed by Permanent Secretary General administration office of the Secretary to the State Governmment Dr. Innocent Eteng said all committees, Tax, Revenue agents, governing board of parastatals, Commissions and Agencies other than statutory boards should be dissolved.
The release went further to direct that all lands allocations and related matters should be suspended till further notice.
According to the Governor, all LGC Chairmen upon expiration of their tenure should handover to their respective heads of Local government administration(HOLGA).
The release in part reads that ” all auctioning of assets are hereby suspended and will be revisited in due course”
“Political appointees and public officers still keeping Governmment vehicles are to return them forthwith to the transport officer, office of the governor.”
