Pi Network has officially announced that its Open Network will launch on February 20, 2025, at 8 AM UTC. This transition marks the end of the Enclosed Mainnet phase, which began in December 2021, and introduces external connectivity to the Pi blockchain. This development allows Pi to interface with other compliant networks and systems, enabling Pioneers to engage in transactions beyond the Pi ecosystem and expanding Pi’s utility and reach.
Truth Live News gathered that the Pi Core Team has outlined several expectations and guidelines for Pioneers and developers during this Open Network period:
Mining and Contributions: Pioneers are encouraged to continue mining, with rate adjustments in line with the declining exponential issuance model and monthly limits.
Utility Building: Engage with Pi Apps and support the Pi Network by using the platform and Pi, thereby helping to expand the ecosystem’s utility. Developers are encouraged to refine existing solutions and create new ones that address the genuine needs of the Pi community and beyond.
Local Commerce Integration: Store owners are encouraged to accept Pi, allowing Pioneers to participate in peer-to-peer transactions for goods and services, bringing Pi continued utility in everyday life.
KYC and Migration: The network will continue the KYC and migration process after the Open Network launches. Pioneers who haven’t completed this process are urged to do so as soon as possible during the Open Network period.
For developers, the focus should be on improving existing Mainnet apps to address user needs and developing new Pi apps to contribute to the Pi Ecosystem.
Regarding the success probability and trends of Pi Network, the project has garnered significant attention due to its innovative approach to cryptocurrency mining, its growing user base, and the anticipation surrounding the Pi coin mainnet launch. As the network’s value continues to climb, many are wondering: What makes Pi Network unique, and why is its price rising? Factors such as community engagement, gamification, and anticipation play critical roles in the platform’s long-term viability. However, the project’s future viability depends on whether it can transition from hype to real-world value.
As Pi Network enters the Open Network period, Pioneers, developers, and businesses are invited to collaborate actively, driving innovation to ensure that Pi Network remains a sustainable, distributed, and robust community.
