The Concerned PDP League (CPDPL), has claimed that, the achievements of the acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, in the area of peace building and unity advancing in PDP has unsettled and driven those over ambitious politicians who are profiting from the disunity and lack of peace in the party, and are also interested in the national chairmanship of the party to carry out, a very watery propaganda using the name of PDP governors, Truth Live News has learnt.

Recall that some sources had earlier reported a purported rejection of the acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum.

But in a very swift reaction, the national leader of the Concerned PDP League (CPDPL), Comrade Daboikiabo Z. Warmate, condemned and debunked the claims by an unidentified NEC member using the name of the PDP governors forum and described the propaganda as a reaction to the sterling and intimidating performance by the Acting National Chairman.

Comrade Warmate said, “the silent but loud salient and sterling achievements of the Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar iliya Damagum, has made invisible and constituted threat to the ambitions of some desperate politicians who don’t mean well for the party, and crisis merchants who have been profiteering from the crisis in the party, hence the recent propaganda and attacks against the Acting National Chairman.”

Speaking further on the issue, he said: “The Acting National Chairman enjoys the unalloyed support of all the governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the NWC, BoT, NEC and ninety percent (90%) of PDP members. Amb. Damagum performance in building a formidable opposition by promoting unity and peace building as a panacea has unsettled the enemies within. Because, what PDP needs most is a united and peaceful PDP, and that’s the primary agenda of Amb. Damagum.

“You know that the Acting National Chairman inherited a PDP in deep crisis but today, he is gradually navigating the party out of the sorry state the party was before he emerged.”
