Contrary to claims that recently pardoned former governor of Plateau State, Joshua Chibi Dariye, has been offered ticket for the Senate under Labour Party, LP, the former governor has debunked the claim, saying that he is not even contemplating such ambition.
News platform owned by Omoyele Sowore, a presidential candidate whose utterances has been critical of LP had published the said story of the party offering it’s platform to Dariye who was given a presidential pardon after being convicted by the Supreme Court on corruption charges.
Dariye debunked the rumour that he was running for Senate describing it as unfounded and untrue as he has not bought form or done anything to that effect.
The former governor said so when Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong led a top delegation from the State to visit his predicessor, Dariye and former Governor of Taraba State Rev. Jolly Nyame to rejoice with them over their release from prison after being granted pardon by the President.
Governor Lalong alongside his wife, Mrs. Regina, National Assembly Members as well as Members of the State Executive Council first visited the residence of Chief Dariye to appreciate God for his release and encourage him and his family.
