The wife the Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Patience Umo Bassey Eno, has paid an unscheduled visit to Community Commercial Secondary School, Ikot Oku Ikono Uyo, to mark the International Day of the Girl Child with a cross section of female students.
Pastor Eno’s unscheduled visit where she admonished the excited girls to honour their bodies and keep away from all immoral acts and vices capable of truncating their chances of reaching their desired goals in life, featured presentation of gifts to the students.
After the Principals request for a spacious library, well equipped laboratory and perimeter fencing in the highly populated school should be built, the wife of the governor made her modest donation towards making the school environment conducive for learning.
She said “while her request caught my attention and I made my modest donation.” As went further to give special thanks to the Female Stakeholders who accompanied her to the school.
She charged the girls to exercise their ‘Girl Power’ while giving the acronym of GIRL as G – Glowing, I – Intensity, R – Resilience, L – Light to reflect the remarkable qualities, strength and potentials embedded in them.
