Signs of implosion in Jigawa State People’s Democratic Party, PDP, are manifesting more rapidly after alleged monopoly said on the state branch of the party by former governor, Sule Lamido, also a chieftain of the party and strong hand of party’s presidential standard bearer, Atiku Abubakar.
Truthlivenews learnt reliably that a recent defection by over 3,000 members of the party to the All Progressives Congress, APC, is one of th planned reaction by a large swat of PDP members in the state to protest what they say is Lamido’s quest to make PDP his natal family affair.
The allegation by members finds substance after what appears to be the Lamido family’s outright dominance in all elective tickets in the state.
Lamido was said to have conquered the State by ensuring that he won a Senate ticket, his son, Mustapha Lamido, won the governorship ticket, his daughter won the House of Representatives ticket, another of his son, Aminu Lamido won the State House Assembly ticket as well as his nephews, Nakudu and Faruk Adamu Aliyu who won Reps and State Assembly tickets respectively.
Over 3000 supporters of the People’s Democratic Party PDP decamped to the ruling APC in Ilirowa village in Buji local government, Jigawa State, on account of this, it was learnt.
Receiving the decampees recently, state Assembly member representing Birnin Kudu constituency Siraja Muhammad Kantoga appreciated their efforts for dumping the PDP and embraced the progressive journey for the development of the state.
