In a recent social media post, renowned journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, expressed deep disappointment over a controversial video featuring former Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The video, which has been widely circulated online, reportedly shows Oshiomhole making remarks, mocking incumbent Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki and his wife, Betsy for their childlessness.
Dele Momodu wrote, “My very dear Egbon Comrade ADAMS, Sir, I have watched this video endlessly and to say I’m shocked and mortified at how low you sank is to put it mildly,” Momodu wrote on his verified X account. He further criticized Oshiomhole’s comments, stating that “it is never a crime to be childless,” and urging him to show the courage to apologize publicly for what he described as a “horrendous tantrum.”
Momodu’s post is one of many reactions to Oshiomhole’s remarks and he is being condemned and his statement has been described as “crossing a line.” The journalist emphasized that Oshiomhole could have simply highlighted that his candidate has a family, rather than launching into what he characterized as an unnecessary and personal “diatribe.”
As this outrage continues, the question remains whether Oshiomhole will address these concerns and issue a public apology as suggested by Momodu.
