Information Commissioner Demands Symbiotic Relationship With Digital Journalists In C’River

The Cross River State Information Commissioner Hon Erasmus Ekpang, has appealed to Digital Journalists to seek clarification on issues concerning the state from his office.

Hon Ekpang made the appealed in an interactive meeting with the Digital Journalists in Calabar.

“I am highly excited to receive you in my office,” the Commissioner told the journalists.

Furthermore, he said Digital Journalists are very important people to him as a Commissioner for Information and as a ministry.

Nevertheless, “I just call us to sit down together and talk as a family and be able to interface with ourselves and create that positive relationship between us.”

“As a Commissioner for Information I understand that I need to have good working relationship with you,” Hon Ekpang Noted.

He reiterated that he loves a situation where he will always try to work together with the journalists to market the state achievements.

He emphasized that the administration of Governor Sen Bassey Edet Otu, is real and committed to do to bring back that lost glory of Cross River State.

For instance, he said you can see that even with their dwindling resources, traffic lights are back and pot holes have been filled.

Commissioner Ekpang added “to some extent we are looking for dusbin to carry except those generated on same day.”

Moreover, “we have started doing some roads and renovating Governmment house.”

Thus, “we want people to feel Governmment impact; the poor man and not just the big people that always fly in the air but people who walk on the streets.”

Whereas, “you know how information is the key, let us synergize together for the interest of Cross River State,” he pleaded.

For example, if we kill our state to the outsiders,” he explained that it would not make sense at the end of the day.

He warned against those looking down on this Governmment today, that tomorrow it may be their turn.

“My appeal to us is to work as a family. The ministry of information is open to give clarification on issues bothering on the state.”

“For real we are doing our work and we intend to do more better,” said information Commissioner.

Hon Ekpang added they have ministry’s website, and most of the things that happened in the state are being captured there.

He emphasized the need for journalists to always hear from him or from his information officers before publishing any story about the state government.

“I feel I should asked for this interface to strengthen our relationship and be together as a family.”

” Let synergize together for the interest of Cross River State and Nigeria in general,” he pleaded.
