Ivana Trump, Ex-wife of former U.S. President Donald Trump and the mother of his three oldest children has died at age 73, Donald Trump said on Thursday.
Ivana and Trump married in 1977 and divorced in 1992. They had three children together: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” Trump said in a post on the social medial platform Truth Social.
A statement by the Trump Family said, “Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination,”
The statement of the former president and that of the Trump family did not disclose the cause of her death, however, New York Post, citing unnamed police sources, reported she suffered cardiac arrest in her Manhattan apartment and had died before the arrival of the paramedics on Thursday.
A statement by the the Fire Department of New York revealed that the paramedics responded to a call from a source whose identity is withheld for cardiac arrest and found a 73-year-old woman dead in the Upper East Side apartment where Ivana Trump lived just after 12:39 p.m. EDT (1639 GMT) on Thursday.
A statement by the Trump family said, “Our mother was an incredible woman – a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. she is survived by her mother, her three children and 10 grandchildren.”
