Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani has cautioned the President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, not to be swayed by the sweet songs and drumbeats of politicians urging him to contest for the 2027 presidential election in the country.
He gave him his piece of advice via his X post.
Adesina, who is bid to leave AfDB after 10 years this year, recently said that he is available for national service after his tenure at the bank ends.
Truth Live News Media quoted his interview with Arise TV’s where he (Adesina) said, “I will be available to serve in any capacity, globally, in Africa, anywhere, including my own country.”
His comment has been interpreted as a hint at the 2027 presidency in several quarters.
However, Sani cautioned Adesina against being misled by politicians.
“My friend Adesina should not be misled by the sweet songs and drumbeats of politicians to jump into their crocodiles and sharks infested political streams and later abandon him midway.
“They have a seasonal mischievous history of motivating the zebra to take on the tiger.
“Continue your great work for our African Continent”, the former senator said.
