The Edo State chapter of the Labour Party (LP), has expressed resentment over the alleged used of thugs and militarization of the just concluded Saturday March 18 House of Assembly election in the state.
The chairman of the party, Kelly Ogbaloi, while briefing newsmen in Benin City said “the fact that the election was marred by low turnout, gross irregularities, and the involvement of life threatening political thugs cannot be over emphasized.
While expressing the party’s displeasure over the outcome of the state assembly elections, Ogabloi said “despite supporters coming out to cast their votes for Labour Party, the election results announced give cause for concern.
Ogbaloi who thanked Edo State residents and the electorate for the solidarity and support the party has been enjoying in the state called for its sustenance.

“Labour Party has records where election results were manipulated in the state and pointed out that Labour Party is strongly against the ugly development.
The state chairman of the party in company of other party chieftains, including the House of Representatives Member-Elect, for Oredo Federal Constituency Esosa Iyawe, frowned at “the inconclusive declaration of election results in places where the party was leading.
“The party will not relent in challenging INEC and others involved to ensure that the mandate is reclaimed.
“The atrocities committed by the agents and thugs loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party at ward 4, Egor and other areas of Oredo Local Government Areas are unacceptable and must be dealt with summarily
