Business Owners in Edo State especially those at the election voting centres have lamented the poor sales recorded due to the low turnout of voters at the various centres in the state.
Speaking at Ugbegun Primary School Ward 7, in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state, Patricia Obianke who sells beans pudding, said the low turnout of voters have hampered her sales.
She said the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections availed her the opportunity to make more money but she cannot talk of same in the ongoing state House of Assembly’s election.
“Today, I have not made much sales because of the low turnout of voters.
“On the presidential and the national assembly elections, by this time, I have sold much of my items but today, the case is different.
“I believe this is because people do not come out to vote today and this action has really affected us badly because we have not made much sales”, Obianke said.
Another respondent who preferred anonymity told Truth Live News that he wishes that if he could turn back the hands of time and bring back the February 25 experiences where they sold their items and made much money, he would have been so happy.
He however said he has no choice but to take life the way it is.
