The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has deployed 6,433 personnel to ensure a peaceful and orderly Edo State Governorship Election. This large-scale deployment includes officers from Edo, Ondo, Delta, Kogi, Osun, Imo, and Enugu States, along with additional forces from Rivers and Bayelsa. Special Forces, including squads focused on intelligence, female units, anti-vandalism, chemical/biological threats, and the K9 unit, have also been mobilized.
Truth Live News gathered that Dr. Audi emphasized the need for apolitical, professional conduct from the officers, urging synergy with other security agencies to maintain peace at polling units, collation centers, and throughout the 18 local government areas in Edo State. Additionally, he warned politicians against violence or electoral malpractice and urged parents to prevent their children from being used as tools of political disruption.
