Edo 2024: Amu Defects To PDP, Vows To Deliver Owan Constituency

Victoria Amu, a former governorship aspirant for the All Progressive Congress (APC), has announced her departure from the party to join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Truth Live News reports that Amu made this declaration at a press conference held at the PDP Secretariat in Benin City, stating that she has committed to supporting PDP candidate Dr. Asue Ighodalo in the upcoming Edo gubernatorial elections.

Amu cited her belief in the PDP’s vision and leadership as the reason for her defection, adding that the party’s policies align with her aspirations for the people of Owan.

She, however, expressed confidence that the PDP can bring about progress and inclusivity to the region.

Amu, who boosts of significant following in the Owan Federal Constituency, assured her supporters that her decision was made in the best interest of Owan and Edo State and pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the success of leading gubernatorial candidate Ighodalo and the PDP in the September 21st guber election.
