Following the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Edo State, Rev. Olu Martins, Deputy Director General of Media and Publicity for the Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council, denounced the event as a chaotic spectacle lacking substance.

Speaking via a press statement made available to Truth Live News on Wednesday, Martins accused the APC of offering “nothing sound or concrete” for the Edo people, describing the rally as “clanging cymbals” devoid of meaningful ideas.

Martins argued that, unlike APC’s hollow rhetoric, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Barr. Dr. Asue Ighodalo, were championing real solutions aimed at transforming the state. He highlighted Ighodalo’s focus on elderly care, agriculture, security, youth inclusion, and economic empowerment as examples of the PDP’s visionary leadership.

Martins further warned Edo voters that the APC’s return to power would spell doom for the state’s progress under Governor Godwin Obaseki. With the September 21 election approaching, Martins called on the people to reject what he termed “vicious vituperations” from the APC and instead embrace the hope and ideas offered by the PDP.

“Edo people deserve leadership grounded in ideas—not empty noise and insults,” he concluded.
