Edo State gubernatorial hopeful, Asue Ighodalo, recently undertook a courtesy visit to Etsako East PDP LGA, engaging with party leaders and members on the imperative of unity.

During the visit, he highlighted his dedication to development, outlining a vision for an Edo State focused on elevating the economy, eradicating poverty, and fostering a prosperous future.

Truth Live News reports that while addressing concerns about his candidacy from those labeling him an ‘outsider,’ Ighodalo dismissed the notion as a distraction, emphasizing his deep familiarity with Edo State over the last 16 years. He highlighted his past involvement with the economic teams of Governors Adams Oshiomhole and Godwin Obaseki, countering the outsider narrative.

Asserting his commitment to the people, Ighodalo outlined specific contributions to his community, stating, “You don’t really have to run around and make noise for you to indicate or show that you are doing things.”

In response to skepticism, he affirmed readiness to address various sectors if elected, including the economy, education, infrastructure, and technology-driven governance. He urged collective efforts to eradicate poverty, rallying support with the message, “Let’s join hands to eradicate poverty because we have all it takes to make the government our own.”

Furthermore, Ighodalo pledged engagement with youth in Etsako East, encouraging their participation in politics. He reassured them of his commitment to being a responsive governor, stating, “I promise to be a listening governor.”
