In an exclusive live interview on Monday with Truth Live News broadcast on its YouTube channel, Dr Asue Ighodalo, a prominent PDP aspirant for the upcoming Edo state gubernatorial elections, passionately shared his vision for the state.
Dr. Ighodalo said his driving force is simple, he said he believes he has something great to offer the people of Edo state.
“I’m putting myself forward to work day and night for the improvement and betterment of our state,” Ighodalo stated.
“With the major blessings, resources, resilient people, and the location of the state itself that we have,” he said, they can take off as a first-world sub-sovereign, surpassing other states in Nigeria and Africa.
Dr Ighodalo, who highlighted the importance of leveraging the foundation laid by previous leaders, added that Edo state is in a position where, with great focus, appropriate policies, and deep thinking, they can develop beyond any other state in Nigeria.
Governorship aspirants envisioned a government where every man and woman will not feel oppressed, no child is out of school, and a society where citizens experience happiness and good health.
Reflecting on his professional journey, Dr. Ighodalo stated, “My work since I went into full-time employment will probably speak for me.”
He said he has established one of the biggest and best law firms in the country,” featuring 15 partners, about 100 lawyers, and approximately 50 other employees.
“I’ve been blessed to chair major multinationals in the country and to work for the federal government and the states,” he said; this experience has uniquely positioned him to understand governance intricacies.
Reiterating his continuous commitment to contributing to the state’s development, Dr. Ighodalo said: “I was on Senator Oshiomole’s team from 2008 to 2016, and since 2016, I have chaired Governor Obaseki’s Alaghodaro Economic Summit Advisory Group.”
“I know where the issues are; I can work to complement the work that has been done so far,” he continued. “I have served in different spheres in the country, and with everything I have done, it’s time to return to my state.”
