The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is gearing up for the official flag-off of its 2024 governorship campaign in Edo State.
The highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Garrick Memorial Secondary School, opposite the University of Benin’s Ekenwan Campus in Benin City. The ceremony, which will commence at 10 a.m., is expected to draw a large crowd of party faithful and key stakeholders.
In a formal invitation issued by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the Edo State PDP Chairman, the party has called on its National Chairman, H.E. Amb. Iliya Damagum, former Presidents and Vice Presidents elected on the PDP platform, PDP Governors, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), and other prominent members, including the Board of Trustees (BoT) and PDP representatives in the National Assembly, to attend the flag-off event.
The campaign launch is seen as a crucial step in solidifying support for the PDP’s governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, ahead of the upcoming September 21, 2024, election.
