The Asue Media Organization spokesperson and Director of Diaspora in the PDP campaign council, Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray, recently condemned the despicable Gestapo acts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State just days before the gubernatorial election scheduled for the 21st of September.

In an interview on AIT, duly monitored by Truth Live News, Deacon Okpebholo Ray exposed the alarming criminalities and intimidation tactics employed by the APC to subvert the will of the people in Edo State.

He said “Someone that was a gubernatorial aspirant, a known APC member, known APC chieftain, all of a sudden, he is in police uniform, CSP uniform for that matter. In police uniform, taking sides, threatening to arrest a sitting governor, and what they would do against his government.

“You can project how Edo will look like in this coming election on the 21st. So this is what they have been doing. From the state chairman, to the last chieftain in Edo State, what they boast about is that they have federal might, They can do and undo.

“You just saw one in police uniform, I was just laughing when they were speaking. This is Blessing Agbomere, when did Blessing rise to Chief Supretendmennt of police all of a sudden?

“Someone who was an aspirant a while ago, his posters are still everywhere. As at last month, I think he was South South Publicity Secretary, now putting Nigerian police uniform on Threatening what he would do against the PDP.

“This shows you the kind of impunity, criminality, that is already going on in Edo State.”

Highlighting a disturbing incident involving a known APC chieftain who was spotted in police uniform threatening the sitting governor, Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray expressed his concerns over the flagrant display of impunity and disregard for the rule of law by the APC. He pointed out the arrest and detention of over 10 PDP members without any formal charges, illustrating the oppressive tactics being employed by the ruling party to instill fear and manipulate the electoral process.

In contrast, Deacon Okpebholo Ray commended the peaceful stance of the PDP candidate and his commitment to upholding the rule of law. He highlighted the candidate’s past collaboration with the president in advocating for democracy, emphasizing the importance of respecting the will of the people in the election.

Despite acknowledging a previous statement by Tinubu indicating a plan to hand Edo State to the APC, Okpebholo Ray remained optimistic that democratic principles would prevail and the people’s voices would be heard.

He said “Our candidate is a man of peace, who believes so much in the rule of law, and he recalls how he worked with the president in the past, in NADECO, how they fought for democracy, it is on this premise that he believes that Tinubu is still a man that believes in the rule of law, and he will allow the will of the people.

“He will not bring in men and women to subvert or circumvent the wishes and aspirations of the Edo people. So it is based on this that he spoke.

“But I as a journalist, I have a video where Tinubu said he was going to give Edo to APC. I can give the video to you.”

The interview shed light on the troubling actions of the APC in Edo State and showcased Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray as a principled advocate for the rights and aspirations of the Edo people. His unwavering commitment to justice and democracy in the face of adversity serves as a beacon of hope for those striving for a free and fair electoral process in Edo State.
