A sea of enthusiastic supporters thronged the streets of Agenebode, Etsako East, and Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Areas, as Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, led a campaign rally for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship and deputy governorship candidates, Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie.
The mammoth crowd, comprising party faithful, youth, and community leaders, gathered to show their support for the PDP candidates, who are vying for the top seats in the forthcoming election.
Governor Obaseki, addressing the crowd, expressed his confidence in the ability of Ighodalo and Ogie to deliver progressive growth and development to the state. He emphasized that the duo possesses the requisite intelligence, experience, and credibility to tackle the challenges facing Edo State.
“In the face of the crippling hardship inflicted on Nigerians by the APC-led federal government, Edo people must elect leaders who can provide solutions to our challenges,” Obaseki said. “Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie are the most credible candidates for the job, and I urge you all to come out in great numbers to vote for them on September 21.”
The Governor commended the supporters, particularly the youth, who participated in the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, and encouraged them to show the same energy during the polls.
Ighodalo and Ogie, in their remarks, thanked the Governor and the supporters for their unwavering support, promising to work tirelessly to address the state’s challenges and ensure progressive growth and development.
The campaign rally, which featured music, dance, and cultural performances, was a testament to the strong support base of the PDP in Edo State. As the election draws near, the party is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to maintain its hold on the governorship seat.
With the momentum building up, the PDP is poised to make a strong showing at the polls, and the people of Edo State are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to exercise their franchise and choose their leaders.
