In a recent Town Hall Meeting held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the upcoming September 21 Edo State governorship election, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, praised his running mate, Mr. Osarodion Ogie, for his commitment to justice, equity, and fairness.
Speaking passionately to the audience, Dr. Ighodalo expressed deep gratitude to Ogie, who was the immediate past Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), acknowledging him as an indispensable partner in his political journey.
“I must acknowledge and thank my partner, Osarodion Ogie, who truly, in the last ten months, has been a phenomenal partner,” Ighodalo said.
Reflecting on his own political inexperience, Dr. Ighodalo credited Ogie with teaching him the ropes.
“Nearly everybody in this room today knows me, and I know zero about politics. Osarodion taught me everything I know up till date,” he admitted.
Dr. Ighodalo also highlighted Ogie’s political strength and integrity, noting that Ogie could have easily pursued the governorship himself, given his stature as one of the strongest politicians in Edo State. However, Ogie chose to support Ighodalo’s candidacy, driven by his belief in justice, fairness, and equity.
“He [Ogie] would have gone for office by himself easily because he is probably the strongest politician in Edo State today. But because he believes there should be justice, fairness, and equity in the land, he chose to be my running mate,” Ighodalo remarked, drawing applause from the crowd.
