The Edo State Government in collaboration with Artisan Development & Networking Organisation (ADENET ORG) has beckoned on stakeholders to rally support for artisans in the State for enhanced quality service delivery.
It said artisans render essential services for the overall development of the nation’s economy.
To this end, the duo has scheduled a stakeholders conference geared to chat a pathway for skilled work and capacity building of artisans.
The Functioning Head of Board for Technical and Vocational Education in Edo State, Mrs. Mercy Imasuen-Isibor, said the conference also seeks to bridged skill gaps, access to finances and market opportunities for artists.
Mercy added: “the board has developed a Technical Talent Development Policy aimed to ensure that there’s synergy among all sectors within the remit of skills development.
“This is to ensure that all skilled professionals in Edo State are developed in a manner that the State will practically be the hub of best skilled workers.”
On his part, the president of ARDENET ORG, Engr. Ugiagbe Osamuyime Xtrel sued for collaboration of traditional rulers, policy makers and industrialists to profer lasting solution to low skilled workers.
According to Osamuyime, I was the first POP man in Nigeria in the 1990. So, this conference which is billed for Wednesday, is for the purpose of training and retraining of artisans because we want to berth the new set of skilled workers.”
