Edo Guber: Nehikhare Rallies Women’s Support for Ighodalo, Says Women’s Role Essential For Victory

Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, has urged women to mobilize support for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie, in the upcoming governorship election.

Nehikhare made the call when he played host to the Women’s Wing of the Edo in Safe Hands Executives and members who were on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner in Benin City.

The commissioner noted the crucial role of women in securing a victory for the PDP, highlighting their importance in mobilizing and enlightening grassroots communities.

He stressed that the success of the PDP in the upcoming election is essential for continuing the significant achievements of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.

“Women are vital instruments for mobilization and enlightenment of the populace and grassroots residents,” Nehikhare said.

He encouraged the women to maintain their campaign efforts across local government areas, wards, and units, promising to support their team with necessary publicity and campaign materials to enhance their vote-gathering efforts.

The Commissioner further urged the women to stay committed to the PDP’s victory despite the “lies and cheap propaganda orchestrated by the main opposition Party.”

Hon. Mrs. Evelyn Inneh, the leader and State Coordinator of the Women’s Wing of the Edo in Safe Hands, praised Governor Obaseki for his outstanding projects and affirmed her team’s dedication to mobilizing women and residents to vote for the PDP.

She requested support from the Commissioner in acquiring campaign and publicity materials, noting that their past mobilization efforts have successfully led to the emergence of various leaders and officeholders in the state.

The visit concluded with a group photograph of the Edo in Safe Hands delegates with the Commissioner and the presentation of “Our Steward Publication (Vol. 3)” as a souvenir to the team.
