The Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has held a top notch meeting with the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)Owan West and East Local Government Area of the state with the aim of fine tuning and strategizing ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
He also lauded the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku for his active political mobilization and work done in the local government areas ahead of the election .
The governor gave the commendation during a strategic meeting with PDP leaders of Owan West at the Ward 2 Uhonmora-Ora residence of the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku.
The Speaker, while thanking the Governor for the visit, assured the Governor that Owan nation remains committed to ensure PDP wins Owan West and East LGAs considering the level of acceptance of the candidate of the party, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, that has made the task of the leaders seamless, saying, ‘victory is in sight for PDP in Edo.”
The Edo PDP candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, who was present at the meeting interacted with the party leaders, assuring them of a brighter and prosperous Edo.
On their part, Hon. Dickson Ahonsi and Prince Aminu Okodo-Kadiri, Executive Chairmen of Owan West and Owan East LGAs, expressed confidence that Asue Ighodalo would win by 90 percent.
Lauding Hon. Barr Jimoh Ijegbai’s efforts in Owan East, the Governor said, “I have known Ijegbai for long. Anything he tells me , I believe. Let it be clear, Owan is PDP. We cannot allow the work great leaders like Senator Yisa Braimah did, to be in vain.”

Jimfred Obaidiku, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters (Edo North).
