The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State is set to begin its Ward-to-Ward campaigns on July 25, 2024. This initiative aims to connect with party members at the grassroots level and familiarize them with the programs and vision of the party’s candidate for governor, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, and his deputy, Barr. Osarodion Ogie.
In a press release made by Rev. Olu Martins, Deputy Director, General Media and Publicity, Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council, it is disclosed that these tours are designed to convey the party’s message of prosperity directly to the grassroots, ensuring inclusivity in their pursuit of a prosperous Edo State. Party executives, led by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, and the campaign council, headed by Director General Rt. Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekewhen, will accompany the candidate on these tours.
The statement read in part;
“Our great party the People’s Democratic Party will be commencing Ward to Ward campaigns starting from the 25th July 2024.
“The ward tours will afford us the opportunity of meeting our party faithfuls at the grass root level so that they can better acquainted with the programs and vision of our candidate Dr Asue Ighodalo and is able deputy Barr Osarodion Ogie.
“The tours will also serve as a platform for our candidate and the party to vigorously take the message of prosperity to the grass roots so that no one is left out in our pursuit of a prosperous Edo State..
“On the entourage of our candidate are the party executives led by our very own Dr Tony Aziegbemi. Also consciously and gallantly visible is the campaign council ably led by its Director General, the RT Hon Matthew iduoriyekewhen.”
The PDP has expressed confidence in its preparation for the upcoming September 21st election, citing its organizational strength and the qualities of its candidate, Dr. Ighodalo, who is described as forward-thinking, focused, and hardworking. The party has called on its supporters to turn out in large numbers to welcome the campaign team and mobilize support for their candidates.
“No doubt that the People’s Democratic Party is the most prepared party for the September 21st election not only because we are a very organized party but also because our candidate Dr Asue Ighodalo is forward looking, focused and hardworking.
“We enjoin party faithfuls to come out in their usual enthusiastic large numbers as they have always done to welcome and mobilize their friends and family for the “Men Wey Sabi” and his solid entourage.
