Inmates of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp at Ohogua, Ovia North – East Local Government Area of Edo, have emerged the 2023 overall best graduating students of the Edo University, Uzairue.
Ishiaku Amos, emerged the best graduating student in the Faculty of Engineering, best graduating student in Chemical Engineering and won the prize for the best student in Entrepreneurship Studies.
Another inmate of the Ohogua IDP Camp, Saminu Abacha Wakili also emerged the best Law graduating student of the University.
Saminu Abacha Wakil in addition won the Mike Ozhekhome SAN, Prize for the best graduating student in the Faculty of Law, Best student, Department of Public and International Law; Mike Ozhekhome SAN, Prize for the best graduating male student in the Faculty of Law and the Olayiwola Afolabi SAN prize for best graduating student in the Department of Private and Business Law.
The IDP Camp at Ohogua Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo is operated by the Home For The Needy and has been in operation since the Boko Haram insurgency made Nigerians from the North East of the Country homeless.
The IDP Camp has become home to several Nigerian children and Home For The Needy has been catering to their needs and ensuring that the inmates in the home don’t lack education and other basic necessities of life.
The coordinator of the camp, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho thanked God for the lives of the students and for those who have contributed to their well being thus far.
He also called for help for those who just gained admissions into various institutions so that they will be able to complete their studies and graduate too.
