Member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Hon. Bright Iyamu has said he is still a bonafide member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), warning those peddling the rumour of his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), to desist from it forthwith.

He gave the warning while playing host to the Orhionmwon Women Vanguard who paid him a solidarity visit in his office in Benin.

Hon. Iyamu, without fear or favour, said he remains a card carrying member of the PDP in the state and that nothing can take that from him adding that he is proud of it.

“I remain a card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP”, Iyamu said.

He described the rumours of his defection as baseless and urged the public to ignore such misinformation, labeling those spreading it as mere detractors.

Earlier, the President of Orhionmwon Women Vanguard, Mrs. Elizabeth Ehimwenma expressed gratitude to Hon. Iyamu for his steadfast support for the association, acknowledging his dedication to the well-being of women in the constituency.

She expressed their appreciation for Hon. Iyamu’s contributions to the empowerment and development of women in the constituency.

Mrs. Ehimwenma also lauded his efforts in turning things around and righting the wrongs in the constituency through impactful programmes and projects.

Also speaking, Hon. Monday Igbinigie reassured the women that, “Hon. Iyamu’s developmental projects are bringing positive transformation to Orhionmwon South, ensuring that the people benefit from sustainable growth and progress”.
