Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki has expressed satisfaction in the ongoing Local Government Councils election, saying that all the parties involved in the election were well prepared for it.
He said this shortly after casting his vote in his polling unit in ward 4, unit 19, in Oredo Local Government Area of the state.
Obaseki said that despite the rain, electorate were still able to turnout enmass to cast their votes for their choice candidates.
“In spite of the rain, the turn out that I am seeing is considerably interesting. That means political parties did all what they were supposed to do to sensitize the people.
“Secondly, we can see that the process has been very peaceful. I am very happy with this.
“That people are here some minutes before the close of the poll is very interesting to to me.
“We have not had any incidence of violence from anywhere.
“I believe the popular candidates will win the elections particularly you can see the presence of people and their agents around. I think people will accept when the results are ready”, Obaseki said.
