The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku has congratulated Hon. Dickson Ahonsi of Owan West and 17 other newly elected Local Government Councils chairmen on their victory at the polls.
The Speaker described Dickson’s victory as “well deserved, considering his level of administrative experience and commitment to grassroot development.
“Ahonsi is a quintessential politician, loyal and hard working man. His election will bring the much needed development to local government.
“We are very proud to have you as the man to sit on the LGA’s number 1 finest political stool through the will of the electorate.
“As you assume office as council’s chairman in our dear LGA, we pray that the Almighty God guide, protect and give you wisdom in your chairmanship administration.
“I express gratitude to the people of Owan West for coming out en masse to exercise their franchise, despite the heavy down pour. It’s a testament of their love and desire to see a new local government of their dream.
“Wishing you a most rewarding, exciting and productive council’s administration ahead as you pilot the affairs of the LGA.”
He urged him to use his wealth of experience to promote development in the local government.
Agbebaku also congratulated other elected Local Government Councils officials across state, pointing out that their victory shows that Edo people are on the side of more growth and development.
He congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for presenting only credible candidates and thanked the people for voting for PDP across-the-board.
