The Edo Queens Football Club of Benin will today, April 12, 2023 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City slug it out against the Ibom Angels from Akwa Ibom State in a must win game in continuation of the NWFL Super 6.
Having played 1-1 against Adamawa Queens FC last week Wednesday in Fufore which has raised questions and criticisms from football fans on the stability of the team on the log.
Despite standing third on the table with 19 points, Edo Queens are ready to down the girls from Akwa Ibom on Wednesday with a wide margin defeat to enable them keep the prestigious Super 6, title race alive.
It is important to note that since the inception of the NWFL Super 6, Edo Queens have had uninterrupted run in the competition.
With just two games left before the Super 6, game, it will be a tall dream for Ibom Angels and Abia Angels to stop the Moses Aduku-led Queens from having Edo State flag hoisted at the prestigious soccer fiesta.
I must say that Edo Queens players are in a killer mood for this all-important encounter.
They have promised a better outing on Wednesday as the fans will watch with delight while Edo Queens humble their opponents to claim the needed three points.
In the first leg played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, it was an embarrassment for the homers as they were humiliated by Edo Queens 2-0 right in front of their teeming fans.
For Edo Queens, there will be no complacency today and the entire squad does not anticipate anything less than a clean win, knowing very well that only a positive result in Benin will enhance their chance at progression.

After today’s match, the race for the Super Six battle will shift to Abia State where Edo Queens will tackle Abia Angels for the last game of the2022/23 NWFL abridged league season.
