Edo Residents Are Desperate To Use Flyover Says, Agbebaku

The Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Blessing Agbebaku, has urged contractors handling the flyover project at the Ramat Park to double up their pace of work and finish in a record time, saying residents of the state are in desperate need to put it into use.

 

He disclosed this when he led members of the committee on inspections of government’s projects in the state.

 

Agbebaku said if the project is completed, it would ease the plights of the commuters who usually spend several hours on the axis of the city.

 

The Speaker who was impressed with the progress of work, said the committee has chosen to embark on the inspection of the projects to see if tax payers money is judiciously used.

 

Speaking, the site engineer, Mr. Akinshola Usman said the project is now 50 percent completed adding that all things being equal, it would be completed either in April or May next year.

 

The Speaker of the house of assembly, Agbebaku also inspected Army Day Secondary School at Ikpoba Hill.

 

He noted that a lot of tax payers money has been spent on the school especially in controlling the flood waters as the area is a flood prone.

 

He urged the school principal to do all in his power to ensure that the school’s property is protected from vandals.

 

The Speaker however appealed to the state government to extend same development strides to other schools in the state so as to also learn in a conducive environment.

 

Responding, the school principal, Mr. Osamwenkhe Ezeilekhae thanked the state governor for giving the school a face lift just as he promised adequate protection and proper use of the facilities.

 

The team also inspected the road project at the Benin-Sapele-road axis of the state.
