The Public Policy Research and Analysis Centre (PPRAC) has announced that His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Executive Governor of Edo State, is the recipient of the prestigious Year 2021/2022 Zik Prize in Good Governance. This recognition comes after a thorough evaluation of nominees by the Advisory Board of PPRAC.
Governor Obaseki’s accomplishments in revitalizing Edo State have secured him this award, Truth Live News can confirm . The Advisory Board commended his creative and reformative governance style, citing ongoing infrastructural developments that reflect a steadfast commitment to the state’s accelerated growth. The administration’s redefinition of public service has successfully laid the foundation for rapid socio-economic progress.
Truth Live News learnt that the award ceremony is scheduled for November 19, 2023, at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos. This event, known for its vibrant atmosphere, is anticipated to draw esteemed members of society and the international community. The Zik Prize serves as a testament to Governor Obaseki’s dedication to advancing the welfare and prosperity of Edo State.
As part of the customary preparations for the award, an interview with the recipient is planned. This interview will contribute to a special documentary aired during the presentation ceremony. The Public Policy Research and Analysis Centre, represented by Senator (Prof.) Jubril Aminu, Chairman of the Advisory Board, has formally requested an interview date in October 2023. Additionally, they seek a detailed copy of Governor Obaseki’s curriculum vitae to enhance the documentary content.
The Zik prize started 16th November 1995 and had Late Jerry Rawlings , Ex President of Ghana as its first recipient. Several notable figures have been awarded. From Dr Adewunmi Adesina to Dr. Salim Ahmed Salim of Tanzania and a plethora of dignitaries who have shone in their various fields.
