A governorship hopeful on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) in the forthcoming 2024 governorship election in Edo State and Pastor Omega Fire Ministry, Pastor Azemhe Azena has condoled with the relatives of those who lost their lives in an auto crash that occurred at Ovia River Bridge along the Benin-Lagos Expressway.
The incident which happened on Thursday, June 29, 2023 on the ever busy highway claimed 11 lives, while others who sustained injuries were rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for treatment.
In a condolence message made available to newsmen on Friday in Benin, the governorship aspirant expressed shock and pain over the incident especially the baby that died in the accident.
Azena who said the news came as a shock to every Edolite and Nigerian, added that it is a sad incident everyone would not want to recall.
He, therefore, appealed to government at all levels to rise up to the call to repair failed portions in Nigeria roads, which, according to him, are responsible for most of auto crashes in the highways.
The governorship aspirant equally prayed Almighty God to comfort and give the bereaved families large heart to bear the pains, while praying for the repose of the dead.
He equally prayed God to grant quick and speedy recovery for those receiving treatment in the hospital.
