In a recent visit to the palatial residence of Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin, members of the Edo Youth Movement, led by President Hon. Aimienota Vincent, sought the elder statesman’s support for their chosen candidates in the upcoming Edo State Governorship Election. The group formally expressed their backing of Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Barr. Osarodion Ogie for the September 21st, 2024 election, while also receiving Chief Igbinedion’s fatherly blessings.
Chief Igbinedion welcomed the group warmly, praising their initiative and emphasizing the positive impact focused youth movements can have on societal development. Reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Esama assured the youths of his full support for Asue Ighodalo’s candidacy, underscoring the vital role he has played in building the party.
The elder State man’s support for the People’s Democratic party’s candidate is coming despite his daughter, Omosede Igbenedion’s recent decamp to the opposition.
This meeting further solidifies the acceptance of the Asue Ighodalo by influential leaders as the preparation for the upcoming elections continues.
