The Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has felicitated with all Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
In his press statement made available to Truth Live News, the gubernatorial hopeful used the opportunity of the Ramadan to call on Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons learnt during the period of fasting, which are kindness, love, tolerance, peaceful coexistence, good neighborliness, compassion and living the kind of life of the holy Prophet. He also urged Muslims living in Edo State to continue to maintain peace and oneness with everyone to foster unity.
“I want to use this opportunity to congratulate and rejoice with all the Muslim ummah in our dear state on the successful completion of fasting period in the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid-el-Fitri celebration. I also want to congratulate you for witnessing the 1st Day of the month of Shawwal. It is my fervent prayer that Almighty Allah will accept your worship as an act of Ibadah.
“Let me also use this opportunity to urge all of you to continue to demonstrate the good virtues inherent in the month of Ramadan, such as self-discipline, sacrifice, compassion, love, caring and sharing, moderation and peaceful disposition. Importantly, continue to pray for our state because with God all things are possible,” Ighodalo said in part of his message.
