Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, has announced the passing of her mother, Olori Esther Iyalaje Adegboye, who died on Tuesday at the age of 97 after a prolonged illness.
A statement signed by Afuye described her late mother as a caring and resourceful community leader, whose contributions to community development and unity will be deeply missed.
Olori Adegboye was a native of Ikere Ekiti, Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State, and a member of the Akayejo Ruling House of Ikere Kingdom.
Afuye remembered her mother as a pillar of the community, whose vacuum will be difficult to fill.
She expressed her gratitude for the life of her mother, who is survived by extended family members, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Burial arrangements will be announced later.
