The Ekiti State Police Command has initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder of Assistant Superintendent of Police Caleb Leranmo and his wife, Taiwo Leranmo.
According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer Mr. Sunday Abutu, Commissioner of Police Joseph Eribo has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct the investigation.
The couple was found dead in their residence on Tuesday, with ASP Leranmo’s body discovered in a pool of blood with severe injuries, and his wife Taiwo suffering from brutal head injuries.
A cutlass with blood stains was recovered from the scene.
The police received a distress call at 07:00hrs on Tuesday, prompting immediate deployment of operatives to the scene.
The couple was rushed to the hospital, where they were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Their bodies have been deposited in the morgue for further examination.
