In the Premier League match on Friday, Liverpool prevailed 2-1 thanks to Leicester City’s setbacks.
As it stands, Leicester have now lost back-to-back league games after falling 3-0 at home to Newcastle United.
Wout Faes, the Belgian defender for Leicester, had a bad day as his two own goals let Liverpool come from behind to win.
Faes is the fourth player in Premier League history to score two own goals in a single game, joining Jamie Carragher (1999, Liverpool vs. Manchester United), Michael Proctor (2003, Sunderland vs. Charlton), and Jonathan Walters (2013, Stoke vs Chelsea).
Leicester took the lead in the fourth minute when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall dinked Alisson wonderfully.
Liverpool equalized On 38 minutes as Faes’ attempted clearance looped into his own net.
And on 45 minutes Liverpool went 2-1 up as Faes turned the ball into his own net again after Darwin Nunez had hit the post.
The win saw Liverpool now occupy sixth place on 28 points while Leicester are 13th on 17 points.
