Daniel Noah Osa-Ogbegie, a former stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, has parted ways with his party and thrown his support behind Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the gubernatorial flagbearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Osa-Ogbegie, in a press statement released on Sunday, outlined compelling reasons why he believes Dr. Ighodalo is the more credible candidate to lead Edo State compared to the APC’s Okpebholo Monday.

Addressing his former colleagues and party members, Osa-Ogbegie articulated that his decision to defect and endorse Dr. Ighodalo was driven purely by altruistic motives for the betterment of Edo State. He pointed out concerns about the suitability of the APC candidate, citing deficiencies in character and personality that he deemed unsuitable for the governorship position.

Osa-Ogbegie’s disillusionment with the APC was palpable as he recounted his efforts to rally behind the party’s candidate, only to be met with disappointment and frustration. He highlighted the lackluster preparations for the upcoming election, lamenting the absence of tangible support and organizational competence from the APC leadership.

In a poignant message to his erstwhile comrades, Osa-Ogbegie expressed hope for future reconciliation while urging them to prioritize the interests of Edo State over fleeting partisan allegiances. He extended well wishes for their personal endeavors, emphasizing the importance of choosing the welfare of the state over transient political affiliations.
