A former frontline governorship aspirant in Edo State on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Prince Tom Iseghohi has dumped his party while still maintaining his dream of becoming the governor of the state, someday.
Truth Live News Media reports that Prince Iseghohi who was in the 2024 Edo State governorship race on the platform of the party, earlier withdrew from the race, citing lack of “transparency and the monetization of the process.”
In his resignation letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure, and Edo State chapter of the party, the former governorship aspirant who said he became uncomfortable with the value system of the party, however, said his resignation does not change his ambition to govern Edo State.
“I’m uncomfortable with the value system of the Labour Party (LP), hence my resignation.
“However, my intention to govern Edo State has not changed. I will drive it through Peace, Unity and Prosperity (PUP) Culture.
“This started since 2013. It is founded on a strong value system. This is why I have stepped away from the Labour Party.
“I only resigned from Labour Party, but very much in the race of governing Edo State.
He added that “the reason I am running away from LP is inconsistency in value system. I’m trained to accept risk.
“I’m still in the gubernatorial race to drive the transformation of Edo State through PUP culture”, Iseghohi said.
