Bandits intercepted a Katsina state public transport, Coastal Bus (KTSA) along Jibia road on Sunday afternoon.
An eyewitness confirmed to truthlive.net correspondent via a telephone conversation that the incident occurred close to a village called Farun Bala, Jibia LGA of Katsina state. He also confirmed that the bandits on sighting the bus opened fire immediately.
The sporadic gunshots hit the driver who reportedly died on the spot. While other passengers hit by bullets sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The bandits reportedly kidnapped sixteen (16) passengers. This is also coming few days after 5 police officers and 4 civilians were attacked and killed in Gatakawa village, Kankara LGA, Katsina state.
At the time of filing this report, all efforts to reach the police spokesman via the telephone prove abortive.
