President Bola Tinubu has urged his cabinet members to dedicate themselves to hard work and the creation of a robust economy that benefits all Nigerians.
The President conveyed this message on Monday in his opening statement at the inaugural Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the State House.
In his address to his cabinet colleagues, the President emphasized, “We will formulate a domestically-driven restructuring of our financial framework, a reenvisioned management of our resources, and we will enable the economy to function in the interest of the citizens of our nation.”
As per his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the President expressed his confidence in the carefully chosen cabinet members, underscoring that his administration is a fresh one with innovative strategies and a new mandate to deliver progress for Nigeria, free from complaints or excuses.
“We possess the talent. We hold the requisite intellectual capability to transform this nation. We will ensure that the nation is set on the correct course to prosper on behalf of over 200 million Nigerians who depend on us,” affirmed the President.
Tinubu acknowledged that the country would rely on the expertise, skills, intellect, and networking abilities of those appointed to make advancements during these demanding times. He stressed that shortcomings wouldn’t be tolerated under his leadership.
In his words, “Both you and I recognize the elevated expectations and the formidable challenges we face. These times demand our diligent efforts to cultivate a thriving economy for Nigeria. Our unacceptable unemployment rate and the looming impact of climate change require action.”
“To reverse the situation, you have been chosen to give your utmost. Our policy execution will reshape the economy, foster inclusive growth, and reinforce security for the sake of peace and prosperity. Investment hinges on security.”
He continued, “The responsibility now rests in your hands. I am prepared to listen and collaborate. I am even open to correction. Only God is flawless. You’ve been tasked with drawing water from a parched well. The hurdles are substantial, yet we will deliver for the Nigerian people. I am proud to steer this endeavor.”
